Danny Irawan Yatim is a psychologist with extensive practical and academic experience in health programs, particular in the areas of behaviour change communications strategy, capacity building, media relations, public health promotion.  He has facilitated capacity building workshops on communications skills, basic counseling skills, media strategic development, gender and sexuality, and intercultural cooperation.

Published articles/books and presented papers in national and international conferences on cross-cultural psychology, health, media and communications.   Has a wide interest on other topics related to language, anthropology, education, gender issues, nature, children and television, travel, arts and culture and have written a few articles on these issues in the local media.

He graduated from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Connecticut College, and Harvard University and has previously worked for several helath programs, particularl in the field of HIV and AIDS, whish were supported by Australian Aid (Indonesia HIV Prevention and Care Project, HIV Cooperation Project for Indonesia) and USAID (HIV AIDS Prevention Project).  He has also provided consultancy for various organizations in several Indonesian provinces as well as abroad in Asia.

He teaches part-time at Atma Jaya Catholic University  of Indonesia for undergraduate and graduate courses, ie. Psychology of adolscence, health psychology, introductory counseling, techniques of counseling, psychology of intercultral cooperation and scientific writing.

 


 

Danny Irawan Yatim adalah psikolog yang banyak berkecimpung di bidang kesehatan, khususnya dalam area perubahan perilaku dan komunikasi.  Banyak memberikan pelatihan dalam bidang ketrampilan komunikasi, ketrampilan dasar konseling, strategi kampanye media, gender dan seksualitas, dan kerjasama antar budaya.

Mempunyai ketertarikan pada banyak bidang lain, termasuk bahasa, antropologi budaya, remaja, lansia, lingkungan hidup, televisi dan anak, dan perjalanan wisata, dan pernah menulis artikel dan makalah terkait isu-isu tersebut.

Lulusan Universitas Gadjah Mada, Connecticut College, dan Harvard University ini pernah bekerja pada beberapa program kesehatan, khususnya bidang HIV dan AIDS, yang didukung oleh Australian Aid (Indonesia HIV Prevention and Care Project, HIV Cooperation Project for Indonesia) dan USAID (HIV AIDS Prevention Project). Juga menjadi pengajar tidak tetap di Unika Atma Jaya dan mengampu mata kuliah psikologi remaja, psikologi kesehatan, dasar konseling, teknik konseling, psikologi kerjasama antar budaya, dan penulisan ilmiah.
