Dr. Gerald Fletcher is a Presidential Fellow at the Thunderbird School of Global Management where he is currently pursuing an international MBA in developing his career as a management consultant in the healthcare industry. He has served in several leadership positions with the Thunderbird Honor Council, Thunderbird Student Government, Campus Ambassador and Cohort Leader for Fall 2014.
As a business consultant, he has provided medical insights as well as led and managed several projects including an international internship program for a $10.2 billion network of hospitals and more recently a business proposal for recruitment and training of Pediatric Oncologists for World Child Cancer across the globe.
Prior Thunderbird, he worked as a Medical Practitioner in Ghana for both governmental and non-profits including the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, University of Ghana Hospital, The Ghana Health Service and other health care facilities in the capacities of clinician and health care consultant. Throughout his practice, Gerald recounts the various “missed opportunities” in health care delivery prevalent in developing economies around the world mainly due to the knowledge gaps and inadequate service delivery.
Serving as the National Exchange Officer in Ghana, he represented the Medical Student Association in several outreach programs and international platforms including the International Federation of Medical Students Association and at other IFMSA standing committee meetings in Serbia and Australia.
Dr Fletcher also has immense international professional medical experience through opportunities he has had in The United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, The United States, and other countries in Eastern Europe and West Africa.
Gerald values innovation and is looking for opportunities to be at the forefront and influence the direction that healthcare is going to take. He is passionate about providing patients quality care that is financially and ethically responsible.
