Ms. Marcia Soumokil brings significant experience managing development – especially public health – projects and providing advisory services in public service delivery at the national, provincial and district levels in Indonesia. She brings in-depth knowledge and implementation experience of public health system in Indonesia, in the areas of women’s health & SRH (including addressing gender based violence), as well as control of infectious disease. Her passions are around women’s health and how gender inequality impacted in poor health outcomes and welfare of women.
Ms Soumokil has worked with various women and youth groups to support and strengthen their capacity in leadership and women active participation in development & health projects. She also sit at National AIDS Commission’s Gender & Human rights working group and has been an active promoter of gender integration in health and reproductive health services and projects.
In recent years, she provides oversight to development of strategy and implementation of gender mainstreaming in governance project focusing on improving frontline services. Ms. Soumokil also has extensive understanding and hands-on experience working with government institutions and influencing policy makers on program development and service provision, as well as working on service delivery with civil society organizations.
She has considerable program and project management experience including planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of complex projects. It also includes overseeing budget inquiries. She also has special training and extensive experience with program evaluation. She has conducted some researches, including exploratory studies and also evaluation study. With demonstrable leadership and advocacy skills, Ms. Soumokil is able to operate successfully within a multi-cultural environment, and quick to adapt to challenging and ever-changing environments. She is an excellent facilitator of trainings and meetings. She is fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
