Dr. Richard Moore graduated from Melbourne University in 1983, specialised in general practice and venerology (Sexual Health). He has been involved in primary health care of patients with HIV since the late 1980’s. Currently Dr. Moore is working at Northside Clinic as the Co-Director. Northside Clinic is an inner suburban general practice in Melbourne specialising in HIV management, Sexual Health, Transgender Health and Health services for the Gay and Lesbian community. At Northside, he also runs the research program that collaborates with many local and international research protocols, looking at new antiretrovirals and new ways of using existing antiretrovirals.
While working at Northside Clinic, Dr. Moore provides clinical consultation for patients with HIV at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre which is a government funded clinic. Also, Dr. Moore works at the Alfred Hospital which is a large tertiary teaching hospital in Melbourne with a large HIV department involved in treatment and research. At The Alfred he has a role in seeing patients presenting for PEP and helping manage a small group of patients with HIV and chronic mental illness.
