He is an obstetrician and gynecologist currently practicing at RSD KRMT Wongsonegoro, Semarang. He completed his medical and specialist training at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and continues to uphold evidence-based clinical standards through professional organizations such as POGI and IDI, while also engaging with international communities including IGCS and ISUOG.
In daily practice, Dr. Irwin focuses on women’s reproductive health across the continuum of care, from providing appropriate contraceptive counseling and ensuring safe pregnancy support, to cervical cancer and HPV screening, as well as managing obstetric cases that require swift yet composed clinical decision-making. He is also actively involved in education and training activities, including the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis, and strengthening syphilis screening and treatment for pregnant women in Semarang City and Regency in collaboration with the Angsamerah Foundation.
His interest in gynecologic oncology is reflected in his participation in various scientific forums, including the IGCS meeting in Seoul, as well as presentations on fertility-sparing surgery for cervical cancer and gestational choriocarcinoma cases. In 2025, he presented case series and evidence-based reports on endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer at KOGI and INASMEET. He has also authored publications on menopause, quality of life in placenta accreta spectrum, risk factors for niche/cesarean scar defect, COVID-19 in pregnancy, and in vitro maturation rescue.
In terms of technical skills, Dr. Irwin continuously upgrades his competencies through workshops ranging from laparoscopic surgery, management of cervical precancerous lesions, mini colposcopy, ISUOG-recognized advanced ultrasound, to electrosurgery training and basic laparoscopic skills in Bangkok. In 2024, he received First Place in the Tadjuluddin Award from the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as the top graduate.
