Dr. Ayie Sri Kartika

Dr. Ayie Sri Kartika, affectionately known as Dr. Ayie, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Christian University of Indonesia (FK UKI) in 1984. She then pursued a career as a practitioner focusing on behavioral addiction, HIV, and life skills development, particularly among adolescents. To this day, she remains actively engaged in clinical practice and patient support related to addiction, HIV, and behavioral health issues.

Dr. Ayie’s professional journey in the fields of addiction, HIV, and life skills began in 2001. For more than two decades, she has held several key positions, including Lead Physician for HIV and Drug Services, Head of the Drug Dependency Unit, Head of the Inpatient Unit, and most recently, Manager of Medical Services at the National Narcotics and Addiction Hospital (PKJN) Dr. Marzoeki Mahdi, Bogor (2001–August 2025).

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Ayie is also an accredited national trainer in HIV counseling, treatment, care, and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV), and drug addiction. She additionally serves as a life skills training facilitator and a certified addiction counselor assessor, accredited by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

From 2007 to 2013, Dr. Ayie served as a key consultant for an Australian-funded HIV program, providing technical guidance in developing comprehensive and high-quality HIV services across teaching hospitals, public hospitals (RSUD), community health centers (puskesmas), and correctional facilities in 11 provinces throughout Indonesia. Later, from 2017 to 2018, she worked as a technical expert for DOKTOR2DOKTOR (DR2DR) Angsamerah, a teleconsultation and mentoring service for doctors funded by USAID. This program offered clinical mentoring focused on HIV and other infectious diseases, while also disseminating public health information at both national and regional levels.

Despite her extensive experience, Dr. Ayie is well known as a lifelong learner. She continues to expand her knowledge by actively participating in various trainings and conferences, both domestically and internationally. For her, continuous learning is essential to providing the best possible service—in education, communication, and therapy—for those facing challenges related to addiction, HIV, and behavioral health.
