Dr. Danang is a general practitioner who has graduated from Gajah Mada University in Yogyakarta in 2009. Currently, he is working as a physician at the narcotics prison in Yogyakarta, which is one of a few designated national model prisons delivering comprehensive HIV care, and acting as training center for staff from other prisons.
Within two years of working at the Yogyakarta narcotics prison, Dr. Danang has succeeded in bringing about so much positive change that the prison has been selected as National Model Prison.
Through his career path over the last few years, Dr. Danang has gained expertise in clinical management and public health program development related to drug abuse, addiction, sexual and reproductive health, as well as mental health caused by drug abuse.
Apart from his work at the narcotics prison, Dr. Danang also practices at his own private practice, called Dr. Danang, and a number of other private clinics. He is also an active member of the Provincial AIDS Commission of Yogyakarta, focusing on harm reduction and the prison setting.
Also, in the last few years, through UNALA program, Dr. Danang has been actively contributed in providing friendly reproductive health care services and its program for young people in Yogyakarta.
