Dr. Anindhita Soekowati

Dr. Anindhita Kusuma Dyah Putri Soekowati, fondly known as Dr. Nindhi, is a general practitioner who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia (FKUI). She has a deep interest in women’s sexual and reproductive health, which she approaches through an anthropological lens. As a survivor of sexual harassment, Nindhi understands profoundly the pain and healing journey of survivors. From this personal experience, her empathy grew into a strong commitment to advocate for women’s rights, voices, and health.

Writing and research have become both a means of healing and advocacy for Nindhi—expressed through literary works, journalism, and academic studies. Her ideas often revolve around health, sexuality, and the social dynamics of women, leading her to engage in various interdisciplinary and international collaborations.

At Angsamerah, Nindhi practices as a general practitioner while also contributing to program development and research in reproductive health and sexuality education. Beyond her clinical work, she is actively involved in formulating health policies at regional and national levels—particularly in preventing communicable diseases and controlling non-communicable diseases—through collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO) Indonesia and a local District Health Office in Papua.

As a researcher, Nindhi actively participates in international scientific forums, including the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP 2025) in Bogotá, the Asia Pacific HIV & Co-infections Program (APHPC 2025) in Singapore, the SAFE Reproductive Health Conference (AUA 2025) in Bangkok, and the Asia Pacific Conference on Point of Care Testing for Infectious Diseases (ASHM 2025), where she presents her research on gaps in access to sexual health services, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and strategies to improve reproductive health literacy in Indonesia.

In addition to her international engagements, Nindhi is developing several research projects focused on sexual and reproductive health, puberty education, and STI prevention. These include studies on the accessibility of HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) in Indonesia, a qualitative analysis of puberty education for elementary school children through the “Her Day, Every Day” program, and her role as Principal Investigator for Indonesia in the multi-country DoxyAsia study, which explores awareness and acceptance of Doxycycline Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (doxyPEP) among MSM communities across Asia.

Driven by compassion and her dedication to women’s wellbeing, Nindhi aspires to be a warm, understanding, and solution-oriented companion—providing inclusive, evidence-based, and empathetic sexual and reproductive healthcare services.
