Cahyo Putranto

In the field of public health, real change does not only happen in policy discussions or government reports—it is built in remote villages, in communities striving for clean water, proper sanitation, and adequate healthcare access. Cahyo Putranto is one of the professionals dedicated to driving this transformation from the ground up, with over 12 years of experience in community development and empowerment at the district and village levels.

Holding a Master’s degree in Public Health, Cahyo has played a leading role in various community-based health programs, including serving as a Health Hygiene Specialist in the Community-Based Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAMSIMAS) and as a District Coordinator in the Community-Led Total Sanitation (STBM) program. His work extends beyond providing clean water and sanitation infrastructure; he has been deeply involved in capacity building for behavior change, demand creation, and strengthening supply chains through sanitation marketing, ensuring long-term sustainability in community health initiatives.

However, his contributions go far beyond the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector. Cahyo has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships across various public health issues, including family planning, maternal and neonatal health, contraceptive supply chain management, and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. His approach is centered on Public-Private-Community Partnerships (PPCP), ensuring that every initiative is not solely dependent on government intervention but also engages the private sector and local communities to create lasting impact.

In recent years, Cahyo has been actively involved in the Elimination of Congenital Syphilis, working to increase screening coverage, improve accessibility, and enhance the quality of treatment for pregnant women—a critical effort in preventing mother-to-child transmission of the disease.

With expertise in program management, implementation research, qualitative studies, and Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops, Cahyo has established himself as a key facilitator in public health capacity-building programs. His strong communication skills, technical facilitation expertise, and deep content knowledge make him not just a driver of change but also a leader who bridges the gap between policy, implementation, and community empowerment.

Throughout his career, Cahyo Putranto has demonstrated that inclusive and sustainable public health can only be achieved through cross-sector collaboration, community-driven approaches, and a deep commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of the most vulnerable populations.
